ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Palmer has a Bachelor of Science ('83) and a Master of Design in Industrial Design ('94). Before academia branded him, he was a student of R. Buckminster Fuller. He criss-crossed the continent to study with him. He has been a mountaineer, fruit picker, computer-aided designer, CPU whisperer, guitarist, and geometric animator. He has published papers and exhibited mathematically inspired prints, sculptures, and short films since 2005 with the Bridges MathArt, Generative Art, and Joint Mathematics Conferences.
His visionary thesis, "Omniopticon, Design Alternatives for a Spherical Projection System" ('94) has been made real in Las Vegas as the MSG Sphere, a spherical theatre and billboard.
He lives in Alberta.
